CLEAN & EFFICIENT FARMING STARTS WITH RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCES

Sustainable farming is essential for preserving our natural resources. Conservation of natural resources like water, soil, and energy are key to sustaining a healthy and productive agricultural system. Farmers can minimize their environmental impact by using conservation strategies such as cover cropping, crop rotation, and reduced tillage. They can also take advantage of renewable energy sources like solar and wind power to reduce their reliance on fossil fuels.

Additionally, they can employ soil management practices to reduce erosion, improve soil health, and conserve water. With smart conservation practices, farmers can ensure a sustainable future for their farms and the environment.

WHAT WE ARE DOING

As with our biogas plant, anaerobic digestion also produces digestate, a nutrient-rich residue. This digestate is used as a high-quality organic fertilizer, returning valuable nutrients to the soil and reducing the need for chemical fertilizers. It improves soil health, enhances nutrient cycling, and promotes sustainable agriculture practices. It is a WIN, WIN, WIN scenario.

SUBIE THE COW SAYS HI

At SubSaharan, nutrient recycling is extremely important. We work with farmers to ensure that our digestate generated through our anaerobic digestion process is a valuable fertilizer that helps replenish their soil's nutrient and improve its health, ultimately enhancing their crop productivity.

We are currently educating farmers about the importance of an anaerobic digester on their farms as a sustainable waste management solution and a source of renewable energy. We want them and everyone to know that anaerobic digesters play a crucial role in promoting sustainable farming practices and supporting a circular economy.
